Microbreeding initiative in local queen rearing
Local production of honey bee queens
Awards to 10 local clubs or operations
-
Our purpose is to foster and promote the local apiculture industry in North Carolina by providing a series of beekeeper trainings that will provide new economic opportunities in agriculture, improve the overall health of the honey bee population, help secure our needs for pollination, and stimulate a new niche economy to bolster a challenged apiculture industry.
-
To foster a community of local "microbreeders" of honey bee queens, we will provide specialized hive equipment and other materials to as many as 10 local county beekeeping chapters or operations.
